Kauai Counseling & Beverly Eager
Two calm, fast, mobile-friendly websites for a Kauaʻi therapist, from first concepts to live in about a day.
A trusted practice on dated sites.
Beverly has practiced on Kauaʻi for more than 45 years. She's near the end of her career, and nearly all her clients come by word of mouth. She didn't need a marketing machine. She needed two sites that a referral could land on and trust right away.
Her existing sites were dated and hard to update. One ran on WordPress, which meant plugins and updates for a site that rarely changed. The other was a hand-coded site from 2016 with a contact form she didn't want.
Privacy shaped every decision. Some of her past work involved court referrals, and she doesn't want strangers finding her office. That ruled out a street address, a map and even the name of her town.

Real pages from day one.
I paired my design direction with AI to move from idea to working site in hours instead of weeks. Every page was built as real, working HTML from the start, so Beverly reviewed the actual site on her phone, not a static mockup. I built three homepage concepts and shared live links. She picked one, and I refined it from there.
Beverly sent changes by text, like removing a service or adjusting how telehealth was described, and each round was turned around the same day. Her CV site got its own palette, type and Kauaʻi photography, so it reads as personal rather than a copy of the practice site. Before launch, I backed up both old sites, then swapped in the new ones, cleared the cache and checked every page live.
Calm, private and phone-first.
Both sites are lightweight hand-finished code, so there's nothing to update, patch or renew besides hosting.
Privacy Built In
No contact form, no address and no town name. The sites say Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi and nothing more.
Calm, Island-Rooted Design
A slow "breathe in, breathe out" animation in the hero, Hawaiian values with their meanings, and photos that ease in gently as you scroll.
Phone First
The phone number sits in a sticky menu on every screen, because a call is the only way to book.
Sensitive Services Kept Separate
Information about court-related work lives on its own page, so everyday visitors don't have to read through it.
Care for People in Crisis
Every footer carries tap-to-call 988 and 911 information.
Ready to Share
Custom preview images, search descriptions and structured data, so links look right in texts and on Google.

Beautiful, and fast.
"Joe has been my web developer since 2008. He's always provided outstanding service and always takes the time to listen to what I need. His latest site updates for me were absolutely beautiful - and fast!"
Beverly Eager, LCSW
During the build, feedback came in short texts, and each change landed the same day. After reviewing the final draft, she wrote, "I really like this updated version." When I asked about telehealth, she wrote, "I think you could say that telehealth is an option, but I don't want it to say that I only do telehealth." The final copy says exactly that.
